| The bending spoons magazine was launched in 2004, with its first issue available to the public in May. Since then, the site has grown and changed, as any publication should. In the beginning, the magazine was focused strictly on SF/F/H. Submissions were few and far between and many didn't fit the parameters of the site's genre focus. So, in the summer of 2005, the focus was expanded from strictly SF/F/H to speculative fiction, accepting works that challenged the norm but may not fit into the realm of SF/F/H. |
After two years of publishing one issue each and every month, the staff of bending spoons felt it would be in the best interest of the magazine, the contributors and the readers to cut back to four quarterly issues, including a for-sale print option (the online version will remain free).
